About Us

Kimberly Colton

Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.

I am so excited to be partnering with Barbara @49dragonflies to build a retreat/workshop around one of my favorite things: junk journaling. I have been a passionate creator, lifelong crafter and firm believer in the power of paper, texture and storytelling. Scrapbooking, smash books and now recently junk journaling has been my creative passion for years. Not to mention side ventures jewelry making, tole painting and wood crafts. I love to receive inspiration from others.

The dragonfly has always held a special place in my life’s journey. For me, it’s more than just a beautiful insect – it’s a symbol of transformation, lightness, and the courage to dive deep and emerge renewed. In many ways, it reflects the creative journey we take in junk journaling: we gather fragments, and embrace change and turn chaos into something meaningful and beautiful. The dragonfly is my spirit insect – a gentle reminder to stay present, trust the process, and let creativity take flight.

Whether you’re brand new to the craft or a seasoned journaler, we are creating a place where we can come together, slow down and rediscover the beauty in imperfection. Here, we’ll get messy, inspired, and deeply connected – to each other and to our own creative voices. This is a time to unplug, connect and play and create alongside like-minded souls. Come as you are and let’s make something beautiful together.

Barbara

Hi! I’m Barbara, the creative heart behind 49dragonflies. From my cozy craft space in Vienna, Austria, I’ve spent years inspiring women around the world to find joy and meaning in junk journaling — turning humble papers into soulful art.

But my passion goes beyond glue and glitter. I believe that creativity flourishes when we honor our bodies as much as our art — and when we lift each other up along the way. Movement and healthy living have become a vital part of my journey, teaching me that strength and beauty can be found in even the smallest steps.

Most of all, I believe in the power of women gathering together to create, to support, and to empower each other. This retreat is an extension of that vision: a space to play, to pause, and to come home to the magic within — with gentle movement, deep connection, and a whole lot of creative joy.
